Yashmin Karten
Yashmin Karten, MBA, PhD is the Senior Project Manager of C-Path’s Critical Path for Alzheimer’s Disease (CPAD) consortium. A neuroscientist and electrophysiologist by training, Dr. Karten received her PhD from the University of Amsterdam, where her work focused on the influence of stress hormones on hippocampal function. Yashmin joined C-Path in 2020, prior to which she was with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where she was Program Manager for the biosafety/biosecurity and human stem cell oversight programs and served as university liaison with federal agencies. She also served as scientific alternate for the MUSC Institutional Review Board for Human Subject Research and has experience in commercializing scientific discoveries by negotiating patent licensing and other agreements, and facilitating strategic partnerships with industry.
