Sudhir Sivakumaran, PhD
Sudhir Sivakumaran, PhD, is the Executive Director for the Critical Path for Alzheimer’s Disease (CPAD) consortium at The Critical Path Institute (C-Path), Tucson, Arizona. Prior to joining C-Path, Sudhir was a Senior Manager, External Partnerships & Alliances, Neuroscience at Pfizer Inc. in Cambridge, MA and most recently, Associate Director, Research Management at Aptinyx Inc. in the Greater Chicago area. Sudhir holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Trieste, Italy and was a Research Assistant Professor at the Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, MA following multiple postdoctoral fellowships at the Department of Neuroscience, Tufts University, Boston, University of Helsinki, Finland and SISSA/ISAS, Trieste, Italy. He is also experienced in computational modeling and systems biology through his work at the National Center for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore, India and the University of Tokyo, Japan. Sudhir brings around 20 years of combined academic and industry scientific experience with expertise and interests in neurophysiological mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and neuropsychiatric disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Autism, Stroke and Epilepsy. Sudhir has served as ad hoc reviewer in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has been actively mentoring numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows through the years in addition to being a mentor with the Massachusetts chapter of the Association for Women In Science (Mass AWIS).
